What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy helps your child develop the tools essential to complete everyday tasks.  Our occupational therapists believe that improving a child's physical, cognitive, sensory, and motor skills, we can encourage a sense of accomplishment, and improve overall self-esteem.

Occupational therapy can help children with their daily occupations such as:

  • Sensory processing and regulation skills

  • Academic skills including such as writing and copying notes, drawing, and using scissors

  • Self-Care skills including brushing teeth, dressing and feeding oneself

  • Playing and cooperating with peers

ABA Therapy

Promoting independence in the daily routines of life instills a sense of freedom and confidence in your child. Our Occupational Therapists are thoroughly trained in executing enjoyable, effective techniques to develop these skills.

What Does an Occupational Therapy Session Look Like?

We incorporate play into our occupational therapy sessions in order to keep your child motivated, entertained, and focused. We believe that by encouraging your child's individuality, imagination and creativity the best results are achievable. We personalize each session to best serve each child as an individual rather than using a cookie cutter approach. Every child is beautifully unique. Our methods include puzzles, games, physical exercise, interactive toys, drawing, and more. Our goal is for your child to look forward to their sessions!

Our occupational therapists travel to wherever your child is the most comfortable whether that be at home, school, or child care. This makes Eastside Therapy Services unique!
